Food photographer in Philadelphia

For restaurants, bakeries and cafés that want their food to look as good as it tastes.

Birria tacos on a pink plate with a hard shadow

Hard light, bright color, and food that looks like you could reach in and grab it.

That's the style. Sharp shadows, real texture, color that pops on a phone screen. It's built for the places your food actually gets seen: Instagram, Google, the delivery apps, your menu.

Food photography for restaurants

Full menus, new dishes, specials. Shot at your place, plated by your kitchen, one dish at a time while it's fresh. If you run a restaurant, the restaurant photography page has the whole shoot day laid out.

Bakery and café photography

Bakeries and cafés need different things. The pastry case in the morning. A cross-section of the croissant. Breakfast from above with the coffee in frame. Cakes on a table outside. I come in early, while it's all fresh out of the oven.

Food photos that work everywhere

One shoot should cover your menu, your website and a month of posts. I plan the angles ahead so you get vertical frames for Instagram, clean matched shots for the menu and delivery apps, and a few with hands and action for social. More on that in food photos for Instagram vs. for your menu.

What it costs

Dish drops are $250 for an hour and six photos. Menu shoots are $500 for a half day and $950 for a full day. Monthly content is $600 a month. See pricing.

Questions people ask

What does a food photographer in Philadelphia cost?

Mine start at $250 for a one-hour dish drop with six photos. Menu shoots are $500 for a half day and $950 for a full day. See pricing.

Can you shoot on colored backgrounds?

Yes. A lot of my work is on bright color: pink plates, lilac, orange grids. We can also shoot on your own tables so it looks like your place.

Do you photograph packaged products?

Not right now. Sunday Gravy shoots food and drink for restaurants, bars, bakeries and cafés.

Do you shoot for bakeries?

Yes. The case, single pastries, cakes, cross-sections, the bake in progress. Early mornings work best, when everything is fresh. More in bakery photography: what to shoot and when.

Where do you shoot?

At your place. Your kitchen stays in charge of the food and I set up close by. I'm in South Philly and work all over the city.
